Less Than Lovers

Less Than Lovers

A Poem by Tyler G
"

A reminder of what could have been

"
Less than lovers, more than friends,
who can tell where love begins?
Risk the fall and make the call,
or flee the court and burn it all.
Life's too short to idolize
some empty words and idle lies,
so seek the truth within yourself
and find what's worth the cost of health,
The beauty of love is a sight to see,
but its shrouded in such mystery.
Less than lovers but more than friends,
can also be where friendship ends.
your paths were crossed but now no more,
your heart was set but now it's sore.
You were abandoned, they shut the door,
and now you wonder what all of this was for.
Take the chance and roll the dice,
or quit this thing before it gets too nice.
For once the game is brought to an end,
you might have to heal your heart again.
So allow your mind to remember,
while your heart starts to recover,
the danger of pursuing another
as more than a friend, but less than a lover.
