![]() Why did you die when I killed you? (The Jeffery Asbury Story)A Story by Ann A MytaTo which she began her report by stating once again, that how a woman was murdered inside of an empty fox lake police department, and like all breaking news stories, the details for the moment were a bit sketchy, but thanks in part to the illuminated red blaring of the evening sun that descended in the background, it helped the viewing audience to see the cast shadow of imperfection that loomed over the police department. All-the-while as the reporter stood there live on the scene, among a host of other media reporters, news outlets and on-lookers just outside of the roped-off parking lot, she then went into her story about the brutal onslaught attack of an unidentified woman whose life resoundingly ended in udder tragedy just a few hours ago, and of all places the dismayed reporter went on in hindrance to admit, for a crime of this resolution to take place, of all places, she said as the camera lens zoomed out to bring the entire police facility into frame, right here inside of your very own Fox Lake police department. And that’s the derivative that drove it home, right-up to their front door. Yet after a deep pause, she continued-on with her on-the-scene report by stating, that the immediate identity of the victim a female had not yet at this time been released to the general public, due to pending notification of her family and next of kin. But then the reporter interrupted herself to befriend her listening audience, because she knew that in a situation such as this; a woman in distress, that the wondering public was powerfully interested in the name of the victim herself; for fear of her being a mother, a daughter, a family member, a neighbor, or even a close friend or acquaintance (romantic or mutual) as they sat there glued to their seats holding their breathes waiting for the reporter to put a name to this deceased. But the only conformation the reporter was able to give at that time about the woman’s identity, was when she went on to inform them, the public, that this unknown assailant whose name was also being withheld for now, pending further investigation, is said to be the fleeing woman’s estranged husband of 17 years. It was one of those riveting news stories that when you first heard it, where outside of the tragedy of a loss of life, you just knew that somewhere in the translation from hand to mouth that infidelity, adultery, and possibly drugs would somehow be attached to this link, along with a mystery yet to be told, and yet still that’s what kept the viewing audience’s attention glued to their television screens. It was without being bias about the plight of a fellow member of the female persuasion, her sister in arms, that the reporter then went on to further add to her in-depth report by saying, that an eye witness account by an unidentified neighbor who happened to be out walking her dog at the time that the vehicle being pursued finally came to a screeching halt inside of the parking lot of the Fox Lake police station. Where after exiting her vehicle it was then that the neighbor, the eyewitness, who noticed this woman stumbling forth from her vehicle, as if she were fleeing for her very life. It was only a few moments later that another vehicle entered behind hers inside the same parking lot, where likewise the occupant of that said vehicle, did also enter the same police department. But after that this is where thing get a bit sketchy, because it was then there inside of the police facility that this terrified woman who was being pursued by her estranged husband was then battered and repeatedly assaulted over and over again, and eventually killed at the hands of her estranged husband. © 2023 Ann A Myta |
