I Adore You

I Adore You

A Poem by Scott "Sage" Goodenough
"

A love poem to my happiness girl in the form of a Villanelle.

"

My love, I adore you,

Every breath you take

And all the things you do.

As though I were a Montague

Not tethered by the stage,

My love, I adore you.

A sleepy smile, at the time of dew,

The happy-sounds you make…

And all the things you do.

I shall address each one to you,

The cheesy metaphors I create.

My love, I adore you.

The way your touch acts as a rescue,

How easily my heart could break,

And all the things you do.

I present to you, the truth,

May this heart ne’er change.

My love, I adore you,

And all the things you do.

Scott "Sage" Goodenough
I personally think rhyming the word "you" at the end of the 1st line in the 4th stanza is cheesy, considering one of my repetition lines also ends in the word "you." What do you think?

But in addressing your tendency for cheesy metaphors it is clever and works fine.
