Depression.

Depression.

A Poem by Madison Grace
"

Far more uplifting than the title would suggest.

"

You don’t understand
with all this noise
it’s no wonder that you can’t.

This pounding.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
As though your world is coming crashing
down.

In this storm,
all you hear is the rain and thunder,
and you don’t care to wonder
that perhaps it’s someone a the door.

They’re knocking.
Trying to break in,
and you think it’s the wind.
Unknowing.

Out there all alone
you’re sure you will succumb
to thoughts pounding like a drum-
the incessant drone.

To afraid to look to the sky,
otherwise you would see
that you’re in the eye
of the storm.

And that pounding,
it was your friend
trying to keep you from drowning.

Hey, I'd really appreciate any and all criticism. I tried to keep it short.
