Mother

Mother

A Poem by Amanda
"

Nature is both beautiful and insanely intimidating, and it is the force I choose to believe in.

"

I felt her whisper against my cheek

My fingers cold and knees grown weak
She tells me we were built with just a breath

She knows my life, she knows my death

What a foolish heart I hold
To think I know what will unfold
She killed her stars; watch them fade

Don’t you know we’re all the same?

Some bleed green and some bleed red
Will our power matter in the end?

Her beauty bestowed the life at our feet

Live in her light or die in deceit

Take a walk and let her guide
Let her whispers ease your mind
You play in a world that is not yours

She’ll grant forgiveness when you reach the shore

Let her speak, you’ll learn the truth
Shake away illusioned youth

In the end, you’ll see it’s all facade
Nature is our only God
