Back and Forth

Back and Forth

A Poem by The Devils Mouth
"

A cutters mind

"
Back and forth it drags
wearing away, tearing and scarred
pain is there disguised
the sweetness of his voice wafting
to vulnerable are my ears
the actions are not mine,
but of what I am becoming
my flesh begins to burn
but I only feel release
the raging storm escaping
the water crashing through
once filled with light, I glowed
but my darkness is forthcoming
a slow and painful descent
from a mountain do I fall
in the deepest ocean I lay
in the darkest dungeon I find my end
cool stone against my skin
I claw against my cage
my screeches echoing down endless halls
only to fall back on my own ears
now I am the raging storm with no escape
the water aching to break through
waiting for the slash
the cut
the pain
waiting
still I fight
pressing against my shell
until back and forth it drags
a sigh escapes my lips
flowing out I come
the part of me I keep caged,
that screams to be let out
the part of me I keep hidden
that begs to be found
there it lays, always waiting
into darkness I do descend
what little light left is waning
in myself, I see my end.
