Lying awake I stroke your hair until you are sleeping

While whispering sweet nothings in your ear

If I ever needed proof of my love for you

It would be how much I miss you when you close your eyes

How I long for the morning to arrive so I can be blessed with your first smile

Now that you are by my side

I can believe in angels and conceive of heaven

Please hear my heart as it sings out to you

'Love is real, Love is real'

Oceans of pain absorbed by your touch

Thank you for being you and being with me

Lying awake I watch you sleeping

I whisper that I love you

I take a sudden first breath of life

As you open your eyes and whisper "I love you too"

Four words flooded through my veins and flowed to my heart

Once there they whispered to my soul 'Welcome to Life'
