The Search for Self

The fall of individualism in our modern world.

Objects

have won over

the hearts

of those living

in a world

where we keep

Nothing.

Simplicity

is of the past.

For as I now write

I am surrounded

by my own

Hypocrisy.

Self fulfillment

has vanished.

Sent back to where

it began.

An idea.

Society

has failed us.

For instead of

the search

for self

We continue

The search

For

Wealth.

Author's Note

This is the first piece I've ever written (about 10min ago). I have been researching the subject of individualism as well as peoples role within society, and I was inspired to begin writing on my own.
