Frank, Machismo and June

Frank, Machismo and June

A Poem by Amanda Abra
"

An oddly prophetic piece... written and titled around May/June 2007. Experiment with pieces of random thoughts over the course of a few minutes. Unfinished poem. MUCHO revision needed.

"

Burning calories by way of Skittles Tropic Punch

Realign your spine, shake the tension

Tip toe-ing and turning about in the garden of

Flower girl duties and fragrance

Oh, but we’ll dance again

My infected red infused with yours; it covers my hands

Thrashing, a whirlwind

Invite me to a concert? I’ve never been

Give me a ring-a-ding-ding

Men like lines, boys like tash marks

Etched into the scoreboard of

Dragging my feet across this carpet of sand

I had a point I was getting at

The rug’s already been pulled out from under

Bobs her head over the surface

Hands pulling her feet

Yank her to the water’s floor
