The red in the rainbow

Something I thought of in the middle of the night

I'm a part of something beautiful
I'm a part of something magical
And yet I feel different
And yet I feel alone

I think bluntly
I feel reluctantly
I am sensitive with my senses
I hide and protect myself cowardly

There is not another quite like me
At least not one that I have seen
Up here in the clouds
Sometimes It all gets too loud

The other colours try to understand
But they aren't like me
They don't think red
They think yellow, green, blue
No words seem to get my thoughts through

It's lonely on the edge of the rainbow
Always feeling like I'm going to fall
Clinging onto what makes me feel safe
Even when no one understands me at all
