Over the phone

Over the phone

A Poem by Thelostgirl22
"

Talking to someone over the phone for months

"
One day I imagine finally meeting you in person
I think I'd much prefer real life you than the phone version
Texting for months isn't the same
I've been burnt before with the same flame
Never face to face, not one date
Then to be told “I see you only as a mate”
I really hope she will be the one who stays
Rather than the boy who ran away
Sending selfies and drunk texting
Perhaps one day for her I buy an engagement ring
Trying not to think too far ahead
But it's her I see when I go to sleep in my bed
She haunts my dreams and I crave more
She is everything I have ever wished for
Maybe I wasn't the issue in the past
Maybe I was meant to meet her and make it last
But for now we'll keep messaging everyday
Until the day we meet with me holding a bouquet
