Secret Desires

Secret Desires

A Poem by Marni A. K.
"

From the paintings The Pastry Chef (Baker Boy) by Chaim Soutine and Nude-Mahogany Red by Amedeo Modigliani

"

Alone,
Desiring.
Her body
Outstretched
On the mahogany sofa
Naked,
Lying on one arm,
Holding her face
In the other’s hand.
Looking at the onlooker,
Unashamed.
Attractive,
Attracting
The attention
Of an older man,
A chef,
Wearing a
Traditional double-breasted
White coat
And a white toque,
Who sits alone
In his chocolate brown
Wooden chair.
His face
Blank,
A red napkin in his hand
Held tightly.
He does
Not want sex.
Neither does she.
They both want friends,
Companions,
Someone,
Anyone.

Lovely, I would write: he does
not lust flesh
Neither does she. This piece is very good. Best wishes, Pammy.
