Lifes Enemy

Lifes Enemy

A Poem by Marni A. K.

The overpowering force looms over its unsuspecting victim.
An unwanted meeting of past acquaintances,
One who vowed to escape, the other who vowed to return.
A promise short-lived, and a promise well kept.
With senses keen, feels a chill in the air
Sounding red alert.
An early warning is provided,
Allowing the once again victim to prepare
For another encounter, the final encounter,
With Life’s most feared enemy…Death.
