In Uncensored Awareness

A Poem by thenakedverse

Life in starvation -

No amount enough to fill

or satisfy.

Empty or entire,

fingers scratch a swollen throat.

The rush of expulsion

pleased her -

A thrill like diamonds

cutting through the lining.

High of prestige -

Sovereignty over form

and frame.

Such comfort from consumption

and rapture in release -

Belief in her control

that turned her master.

Control issues...? I liked the vagueness of this poem. What are we really becoming aware of here? Good "food for thought". I'll have a bite.

i see loving disorders in this...and the eating disorders as a great metaphor...

taking something also not so poetic, but making it work...

fun to do isn't it?

Oh, I know what this means, it means you are
writing about someone with an eating disorder.

------I read that below----
You do write well. I just need to connect.
I think you are in there, I just need to dig you
out.
I tried.

After a second reading it is completely clear. The poem not only describes with crystal images, but also uses them to explain the motivation of the subject (at least for me). Thanks for posting such a real poem.

Life in starvation, no amount to fill or satisfy. That's a punch line to me.
Life is good this way, have you ever imagined how the world would look like if men got satisfied.Living wont be fun.Technology would be down, sports wont be fun coz people will do them when they feel like.Everything beautiful was invented because of starvation.Starvation for success.

I like this poem.
