of alls and noones

of alls and noones

A Poem by T.H.
"

a message to all hearts from mine

"

you with a paper kiss for a heart,

beware of the wolf -

oh, how he huffs!

oh, how he puffs!

grip your paper heart tighter,

& guard it with all your might (- light),

it is the most precious jewel there is;

yourself be of stone.

iron hearts are a hoax,

melting

at a degree

lightly above body temperature.

hearts of water,

i have swallowed your rue of flowing

formless

in the still of the Hades;

choose rain against tempest,

if you can,

although at times

a good shake-up is hallowed indeed.

earthy hearts, grounded in heavy -

you are the ugliest, therefore

the most needful of love; i say,

soak up the dew of a gentle sunrise,

breathe in

the wind

of a clear mid-day sun,

bask in the claret of its dusk, and

pray

that there is still some hope

left for your poor wretched soul,

i say,

atone

for the parched soil of your past

with contrition

of tears

for someone else;

but you will not listen.

will you?

a heart of light is never alone,

for its light is only a fraction

of the source.

a heart of fire burns away

hastily,

ripping the murkiness

in a flash of summer lightning

but shows the way

,

if only for a moment.
