Wait

Wait

A Poem by Raunak Agarwal
"

This is a yearning call of the inner self to stop for a second, in the arduous incessant journey of the paraphernalia of life- not to rest, but just to be, to witness the events pass by, in a trans.

"

Upon the hither and thither of life,

Full of struggle, competition and strife.

I am the juncture, across the gate,

When both my heart and mind cries Wait!

To the fast life, evergoing events,

My heart tired and mind laments,

When the world continuously fears not to be late,

Still, both my heart and mind cries Wait.

I want to sit, I want to sleep,

To do nothing and drill down deep,

I want to know the unknown me, in a sort of self date.

And so, both my heart and mind cries Wait.

I want to fight, I want to love,

I want my inside to flow above.

To visit the haunted inlets of the heart unvisited,

Both my heart and mind cries Wait.

Long its been, being always serene,

Going by the clock, in this race umpteen.

Now all I want is to stand and stare,

For a moment in life, when I won’t care.

Into the oblivion, as the layman’s mate,

And so, my heart and mind cries Wait.

Agreed! The life is a river, continuous its flow,

Our deeds, our actions, taking the front row.

But the sands of time do force as a blow,

When the continuity itself obstructs the glow.

Then, this river yearns in thirst, pleading for a drop of fate,

Its then that both my heart and mind cries Wait.

I know I will rumble in this mumble of fray,

My austerity accumulated, will be the sunkissed ray.

But the relaxing chilly clouds have to be docked at bay,

To pair with the warmth of the upcoming new day.

To let the pent-up feels voice and abate,

Both my heart and mind shouts and cries Wait!!!
