A Catastrophic Wound to Mend

A Catastrophic Wound to Mend

A Poem by Laura Lay
"

This was deep and means something to me. There are many types of pain

"
This insanity will be my end
A catastrophic wound to mend
My broken heart shall never heal
No lovers kiss wiil ever seal

This silence shall grip my throat
With hands of steel, it`s you I loathe
And with a raise of your hand, I refuse to flinch
I wont back down, I wont move an inch

Your words, they strike me to my knees
Every letter makes it difficult to breathe
On my knees I will stand and face you
My eyes, enough to silence you

You berate with the forgotten past
Every memory burning fiercer than the last
If I close my eyes the truth comes to life
I`ll destroy those memories, no longer in strife

You pity me, for the passion I possess
If I show you love, you prove to me less
For my love is endless like the ocean
Yet you always find a way to break your devotion

This insanity will be my end
A catastrophic wound to mend
Your broken heart shall never heal
With another man, my lips will seal
