An Anchor, For The Soul

A single image
To bind me
Through the darkness
Of my life.

Carrying me
Forth
Into the light
Of day.

After a lifetime

Living 

In abject fear

Of dying

Alone.

Even if

Only a dream

That haunts me

On a nightly basis

I do awake.

As if

A PTSD flashback

Had come

A callin' to me.

Knowing

You're my armour

To keep me

Safe.

Thank you, Anto. Just thoughts, which Richard's poem inspired me, to write, before I had finished reading his poem. Just like The Mission UK is, doing so, right now.

Wow - so you were getitng ideas for this as you read Richards work and writing too before you go tto the end. Thats a complex process - I couldnt do it.

Am doing this, in my head, Anto. Often do this, when I have a particular song playing mentally, and writing something unrelated. Like cross-pollination, for me.

And have been mistaken for a raccoon, too, with my bandit mask, around the eyes.

You know, twins separated at birth. Got really dark circles, around the eyes.

I had to google raccoon there - we dont have them - I see - I see :)

No, no, we have enough of our own - how you say 'Varmints' lol

Am assuming, you mean the "two legged" variety.
