An Anchor, For The Soul

An Anchor, For The Soul

A Chapter by therisa
"

An expanded and edited version of my poetic response, to Richard Allen Beevor's poem, "From The Depths". http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/Ricbeev/1465270/

"

A single image
To bind me
Through the darkness
Of my life.

Carrying me
Forth
Into the light
Of day.

After a lifetime
Living
In abject fear
Of dying
Alone.
Even if
Only a dream
That haunts me
On a nightly basis
I do awake.
As if
A PTSD flashback
Had come
A callin' to me.
Knowing
You're my armour
To keep me
Safe.

Your welcome, Richard. Sometimes, another poet's work moves me, like this.
Knowing theres someone - someone to help guide or if you're lucky to love you through this Life makes such a difference to the journey - - they are your anchor for your soul and that is a wonderful write T.
