An empty cage

An empty cage

A Poem by the bitter taste of almost

I am outside the door, peering in

but I don't knock;

I don't want to wake the past.

I am outside the door, but I'm not

on the outside; I'm inside

my own box

where I ask no questions, open up nothing,

just count the days.

Nothing goes and nothing stays.

An empty cage.
