Forever and Never

Forever and Never

A Poem by The Dark Passenger

I’m not done yet,

Just taking chances,

Filtering through all the blank stares,

and games of second glances

I’m too old for the chase

And too young for disgrace

Come on, pretty baby,

Just one more taste…

Can’t we just cut to the finish

Cut out all the fast lies

Everyone else has us figured out,

But I’m neck deep in all my doubts

So hooked on your blue eyes

Your black hair

Your shy smile

It’s not fair

Free lessons,

You showboat,

You sweetheart,

you should know-

But to you, the lines are still blurring together

Just seems like it’s been forever

And I’m just going to have to surrender

Shake it off and say goodbye to happily ever after

Author's Note

The Dark Passenger
I played around with tempo/pace here... written on the spot... sort of a chance to vent. Ha! I always need to vent!
