Gaze Aversion

Gaze Aversion

A Poem by theunionisloud

Don't give me that look, Don't dodge the truth
That I know
That I knew
Long before the words escaped your lips,
Before you beat my heart with yours.

I can read you
though your stupid
Words
distract
Stamped in calligraphy on your stupid
forehead, your stupid
surface
I saw right through

And thought insight meant love.

But not all magic is good
I no longer need proof beyond my own
your energy internally wasted! absorbing
factual, sensory
stupidity
Never thought to Explore
the way it is and
you can trust when I say

There's nothing you can hide from
There's nothing you can hide from me
          and
There's nothing you won't try to hide
There's nothing I'll stop you from trying to hide
         But:
you lost before you started,
Betrayal spotted
in your mediocre eyes
which
Burn mine iris, but peer no further
         Don't give me that look
         You don't even
See anything.

So many emotions get touched by realization. And that realization can be seen in one glance of the eyes. Well captured. Eyes, so much is seen by them and IN them. I also catch a struggle here between the emotional and the analytical perceptions, again more that's touched by realization.
Sometimes it all needs to be said, put out there, before it's fully realized... and so you have. Nice job of writing here.
