Ocean Tears

Ocean Tears

A Poem by thewholesoul
"

A sentimental poem that thugs on the heart strings

"
I close my eyes
to hear the ocean from a shell

a daughter's gift
who once knew her father well

reopened eyes
are still inside this prison cell

memories of the ocean drift
my salty tears begin to swell

thanks very much marcus for the read and review, as always much appreciated my friend.
I decided to check out a couple more of your poems, and I haven't been disappointed. You write with a genuine connection to the world, reminds me very much of the Zen found in Haiku. That said, here you've still managed to successfully tell a touching personal story also. Good work!
