Old shoebox

Old shoebox

A Poem by Black Orchid
"

I was feeling very sentimental.

"
Old photos thrown together in a shoe box
Family Friends Old flames
Each photo you grab
A different decade a different haircut, A different weight.
All living together in perfect union
Memory comes alive
That wallpaper that you forgot
Those shoes that you loved so much
He really was that hot...
Could I have ever been that young?
Mom was beautiful damn was she hot
All those faces
All those places
Mexico the pool
The old house
That old shoe box is my heart my life
Tattered and torn
But here they are 20 years later
Piecing the life of me together

Author's Note

Black Orchid
I moved this week and found an old box of photographs. As I was sorting through the box each picture I grabbed conjured a different emotion. I felt inspired by the sentiment that looking at them aroused.
