Canvas

A Poem by Thomas Kainaroi

A blank canvas hangs
In the blank expression
Of my hollow face.
The golden eyes search within.

"Enter into my embrace," she says.
Sight into my sight,
Lips upon my lips.
Hands of light swim over my soul.
Her fingers alight upon my forehead.

I am awake.

Now let us follow the stream of words.
Let us be the words.

The music dances into the gray world.
It chimes within,
It lives within.

The images in our threading night lights
Become real.

Let us behold them.

Forever we sleep,
Forever we awake.
Forever is love.
