The Two Figures

The Two Figures

A Poem by Thomas Kainaroi

On my daytime journey,
Upon pathways of
Countless pilgrimages,
I gazed through the lens of the sun.

Before me were two figures,
Dancing in the distance.
Hands locked and yet free,
They tossed their sphere of dreams to the sky.

I saw them run,
I saw them twirl.
Whether they came nearer or farther,
Or if they saw me,
I do not know.

The god and goddess
Witnessed their own miracle,
And vanished into the light.

A wonderful dream it would be
To meet them and to know them,
To become them,
At the reunion of all things.
