When Winter Fell

When Winter Fell

A Story by Tiber
"

A piece concocted whilst savouring absinthe (well, maybe not 'savouring') and listening to a friend compose on his guitar. Also, some depression and general self-loathing.

"
The winter comes,
Right after fall,
Same as last year,
Same as the next;
Green turns to red, turns into brown,
The hue of old blood,
The shade of evenfall,
The seed of long night;
Dark is the sky,
Bleak as my heart,
The stars have all died,
Yet the moon still hangs around;
Pain is all I've got,
All I despise,
Wearing this flesh,
I doubt I'm still alive;
All I have got is this hunger within,
Calling out for more,
Craving to be filled,
By what, I do wonder,
By what, dare I ask,
All that I am,
So void and empty I am.
