Cryptic Desertion

Disclaimer: This isn't about me. I was inspired when I encountered a relationship like this and I felt it should be expressed.

It’d be simpler to say I never cared.

But then, that would be a lie.

That passion we once shared,

Has been put to bed tonight.

You’re so close, yet so far.

When did the feelings shift?

When did we grow apart?

Your hearts a crypt.

Won’t touch me,

Nor kiss me.

Do you even realize I’m here?

I crave affection too,

Just like your other dear.

Thought I wouldn’t discover?

Your lies are unravelling at the seam.

How could you love her

When you never had the time for me?
