Writers' Blocks

Writers' Blocks

A Poem by Richard Mueller
"

Yup.

"
Blocks.
Writers' blocks.
I am dealing with one of those blocks as a writer.
It's sitting before me, staring at me with cube textures.
It just keeps coming back.
Whilst I sleep.
Whilst I shower.
Whilst I get ready for school.
Whilst I sit in a desk for 6 hours.
Whilst I come home.
Whilst I sleep once more.
For shame...
Repeat.
I've tried everything I could possibly think of to rid myself of it.
I've tried disassembling it with my very hands.
I've tried throwing it down a sewer drain.
I've tried tossing buckets of paint on it to spark some creativity to it's plain, blocky, wooden features.
I've even tried throwing it into a volcano as a sacrifice.
But nothing works.

People say that they have trouble writing and yet write so well. This is just what you did. I liked what you have written. ☺

I quite enjoy this poem. It is part humor, part frustration. Sadly, I know writer's block far too often for my liking. My favorite line was "I even tried throwing it into a volcano as a sacrifice."
Overall, good poem on the woes of writers.
