The occasional pain

The occasional pain

A Poem by nitin

6-Ways-to-Cope-With-Unrequited-LoveThe memory comes
like a searing pain.
It sparks questions
about what I didn't gain

The hollowness feels
like a rotten shaft
It makes me remember
the togetherness in our past

The tears came rolling down
making my eyes moist
The dream that I had once
is now gone bust

But I know one thing
this also shall pass
like those pains before
this will also not last

The daily mundane chores
will make me forget
The so call important things
will occupy me till sunset

I have learnt now
how to live without you
only this melancholy pain
comes every week or two

But this pain is nothing
compared to that you gave me
when in-spite of being together
you acted as a stranger to me

This then reminds me
that may be its true
it's better to die occasionally
then to die every moment with you
