Sipping The Nectar Of Him

Sipping The Nectar Of Him

A Poem by Choosing Life
"

Tasting the sweetness of another soul can be so refreshing

"

His sorrow
Poignantly displayed
For my eyes to digest
Makes me heart grow fond of him
Under his pen lay the lyrics
That my soul has sung
And through the pages of his vulnerabilities
I longed to touch him as much
As he touched me
His soliloquies in scribe
Made me take notice.
There was strength in him
That many men would never know
He wasn’t afraid to let his heart flow
And through his ability to do so
My guard was dropped
Funny how thoughts can be reality
Even when real is subject to illusion.
First a trick must be played on the mind
For the eye to be fooled
And through his hauntingly lyrical cries
I tasted sweetness~
Sweetness that glistens on the stamen
Of his honeysuckle soul
Teasing my tongue with delight
Causing the mouth of my heart
To want to feast on his thoughts
To suckle on the wonder of his spirit
While sipping  on the nectar of Him
Until we both are satisfied
And he may never know
How deeply he moves inside of me
In essence I comfort him
I crown him a king
And lift his head
That is heavy with the weight of this world
And through my words he rises in peace
Escaping the spirit of heaviness
His joy is made complete
As his words impregnate me with inspiration
To write and ode to the redemption
Of broken hearts
Everywhere~
So tangible is his beauty
As he bleeds ink
That baptizes me
A woman~

Back to her loveliness, Choosing Life has again written a bittersweet piece that must be read again and again. The beauty of her work, the smoothness of her words and the portrait they reveal to us is simply incredible. At once both bold and fragile, the tortured soul is rend and healed to live again. I wish all work was this genuine, this precious.

Thanks for such a lovely, heart felt poem. I look forward to reading many, many more.

Wow! What a beautiful, devoted piece extolling the virtues of love, surrender, and completion. It captures the essence of desire, of fresh and powerful love in a quasi-religious spirit.

May I make a couple of suggestions to remove some imperfections in this lovely piece?

In line four, "Makes me heart..." should be written "Makes MY heart..." unless you're going for the Gaelic angle... :-)

In the seventh from the last line, "To write and ode to... " should reand "To write AN ode to..."

In my final re-read, my eye was captured once again by the brilliance of the line:

"Causing the mouth of my heart
To want to feast on his thoughts..."

What a delightful read!
