A Soon To Be Memory

A Soon To Be Memory

A Poem by Choosing Life

Enlighten me

Beyond flattery

Take me to new heights

With tangible affirmations

Without hesitations bound to yesterday

Games are played where one wins or loses

If this battle means we lose us

Than I chose us, first

Nothing worst than counting

Should have's

When all we had to do was grab now

So enlighten me

Exciting me

Is fleeting

And we feel good for the minute

But in the end we lay depleted

Possibly defeated

So make me brighter than the sun

So that I might out run the moon

And be your day

Giving you the heat of June

And only dim the light of me

When it is timefor us to sleep

But what weight holds up your pleas

Can you enlighten me?

Start by rewriting we

And maybe then I can see...

If this is just meant to be

A soon to be memory ....

'So that I might out run the moon' catches my ear here...cos I just like it. Through All The Stop Signs is still bossing my mind though. I think this and Stop Signs both 'sound' when I read them...they sound like they would perform well. There is emotional control in them.
