The Weight Of Your Current

The Weight Of Your Current

A Poem by Choosing Life

I loved you with every breath

While under each heave of my chest

You reminded me, you weren’t ready yet…

You weren’t ready to receive the offering of my being

I draped my soul in gold for you.

And held on for the moments, where your resistance

Was so futile…

Quietly taking pleasure,

In the fact that part of needed me so much…

You had to run.

Maybe that was the way I needed to see it,

As you teetered tottered on the see saw of our relationship…

Wanting all and nothing at once…

Sawing me in two.

Half your lady…

 Half your nothing…

Always your friend.

I felt the fabric of my being ripping,

Under my need to please you….

Under my need to free myself.

The weight of your current tossing me to and fro.

Calling me yours while telling me  no~

Awesome write! Express it so well! Love your word choices. 'The weight of your current tossing me to and fro" "Sawing me in two, half your lady, half your nothing." great lines. Your longing and frustration both evident in your words.

You have a sweeping way with flow, and this poem is ultra romantic- passionate and well written,
to know such a captivating love ..poetry, the metaphorical ambition is brilliant and woven
with truth and sentimental sincerity, dreamingly beautiful emotions, soulfully sensuous. lovely.
