Hot Tea

Hot Tea

A Poem by Choosing Life

Sipping these thoughts like hot tea.
Careful not to burn
 The tongue of my soul
Finding, you, brings soothing,
to my tired being, like chamomile…
looking out the window of now
wondering what could have been
quietly fumbling through my collective ramblings
I find of your smile
Neatly tucked into the fold of my being
I sip these thoughts like fine wine
 Swishing around, trying to catch
The aromatic effervescence of time cut short
With do and don’t at the forefront
 I silence the golden commitment
That can never be made
And lay it to rest on these pages.

A beautiful poem. I favor coffee to tea. But your words are true. The description of the comparing tea to life is very good. A excellent poem.

What an incredibly lovely poem. It is hard to write a review with something so well done. I know you enjoy honesty and constructive criticism. In my opinion, it is one of your best. Whoever that special someone is, they are very fortunate to have you hold them in such healing light. So good for you and yet "I silence the golden commitment/that can never be made/ And lay it to rest on these pages" is beautifully bittersweet and adds a deep finishing touch to your excellence.

Thank you for sharing "Hot Tea" with us!
