Smoking in the Moonlight

Smoking in the Moonlight

A Poem by Tobias Rasmussen

Smoking in the moonlight shine.
My favourite love, will you be mine?
Rings of death soar in the night sky.
Look at them disappear, look at them fly.
Will you take me with you?
Will I die?

Moonlight shine bright and clear.
You are the last battalion against my fear.
My life burning faster than my cigarette.
My life is ending in a mighty dread.
Come bring me with you.
Let me die.

Cloudy weather in the horizon.
Let me put my longest coat on.
Now my cigarette is only a butt.
I close my eyes and keep my mouth shut.
You left me behind.
It wasn't my time.

She is calling my name.
I'll return home once again.
Her arms wrapped around me.
The warm, secureness, I see.
I wasn't supposed to die.
I need to live and win.
