Little Treasures

When she reminisces of harmonious moments

Spent dreaming of their coupled lives

When finally snuggled so safely side by side

She thinks of the many telling smiles

All the stunning shimmers of assurance

So freely bequeathed

Smiles left to linger upon her memories

As a warm kiss never shared

And yet, still melts within her heart

 

Those smiles which would defy

The sadness tinging smoky-blue depths

That would spread until they joyously crinkle

At the corners of glittering eyes

Times when her beloved would appear

Again, captured by sweet adolescence

And other times when they could do so little

To conceal what mischievously tugs

At the edges of playful plush lips

 

She misses the mornings which would seem

To shine all the brighter with their fleeting hello

The blushing giggles that would arise

As humored puns were directed at no other

But a lover who could laugh at themselves

Mornings which always begin with thoughts

Of golden locks and a timeless love

That could almost be felt warmly tangled among

The velvet covers of her bed

 

Forever consumed by their breathlessly sighed words

Challenging ones’ resolve to read between

Each remarkably picturesque line

That bewitched in potent incantations

Of a tenderness waiting on high

Wondering if when her cherished is caressed by the sun

Or when they lift an affectionate gaze upon the moon

That somewhere in this world of beautiful kismet

Her lover is missing her too

I have a fair few lines here which really caught my eye but these lines here are my favourite in this one!
