Another Sky

Another Sky

A Poem by Thomas J Peltier

The moon hasn’t risen, it won’t show her face.

No light shines upon her, hung up on heavens lace.

But still I look, still I wait,

Darkness does not hesitate.

Look down to the horizon; it’s where she has been.

Maybe she will rise up, to see me again.

Still I look, still I wait,

Still I watch, can’t find my fate.

Is it too late? Is it too dark?

The candle won’t reach, she’s gotten too far.

Please don’t go, please don’t go, please don’t go to another sky.

I’ll shine more light, shine more light, shine more light ‘cuz I didn’t last time
