Human Ties

Human Ties

A Poem by Thomas J Peltier

Break the ties of human relations,

With self egos that impair the mind.

Never having any problem to try

And cut it all loose.

Break the ties of human relations

To create a noose.

Oh they can’t feel the twists

Of braids wrapped around their wrists.

Sever the hands that used to be held.

Red rover sent the wrong men over.

The peace will always be over.

Each chain misses a link,

Sever the hands that used to be held

They can’t even think.

Oh they can’t feel the tips

Of their fingers and the blue of their lips.

Break the ties of human relations

And sever the hands that used to be held.

What is left to hold onto?

What is left to hold onto?
