Darkness; Inevitability

One cannot escape what comes after the brutal knife.

Eternal rest is a term used only to describe what our material bodies do.

No matter how much we wish and plead and even take forth our own lives, will we ever get the warm nothingness we pray for.

It is inevitable, the darkness we will encounter after leaving our shells.

Nothing can stop it.

The shadow land is a journey like no other.

Purgatory to what we envision perhaps as a heaven or hell or mixture of both.

Maybe there are no Gods there,

Maybe it's run by souls of the strongest variety,

Those who faced the demons who brood and beleaguer in the middle of life and mystery.

The naïve and the desultory of humanity will never know if this is to be true,

For that is the way it was meant to be.

Our fleeting, evanescent lives are not able to harbour such immense knowledge.

Such ferocity of thought would not fit inside the confines of our shelled minds.

Do not die because life is jaded and bleak.

Live on,

for your days of battle and conflict will come soon enough.

Child you are warned.

You have the burrden of possibility.

The burrden of inevitability.
