Sense of sight

Sense of sight

A Poem by T.E Potter

When you see me, you see a smile

When you see me, you see laughter

When you see me, you see a carefree spirit

When you see me, you see no pain.

But if you really saw me, saw behind the smile

Behind the light in my laughter

You would see no smile

No laughter

No carefree spirit

But you would most definitely see pain.

When I see myself, I see loneliness

When I see myself, I see worthless

When I see myself, I see a pathetic coward

When I see myself, I see pain.
