Scars

Scars

A Poem by Zapata
"

Scars can be both mental or physical.

"
The touch of darkness,
The boom of terror,
The wave of anger,
Bring the need to feel better.

This kiss of metal,
Across my skin,
holds the paradise,
I'll briefly live in.

To trace the pain.
With trembling fingers,
Remembering what they're from,
the memories linger.

Away with the scars,
Reminders of the past.
You only remind me,
That happiness never lasts.

So help them fade,
Along with me,
Hang myself,
Upon that tree.

Do hang your words upon our souls; please don't hang yourself upon a tree. Trees are to be climbed, trees are to be hugged, trees are to be gazed upon. Poetry swims in your blood so intensely that it seeks to be carved out with metal if you won't let it out with a pen. Keep writing, dear Zapata, and you will find a deep power of expression in all of your memories. Keep writing.
