Dandelions

Dandelions

A Poem by T.C. Banks

Dandelions form in the cracks of my mind

Dandelions roar with words that aren’t kind

Poachers come and the ‘lions are no more

Rainfall comes to sooth what’s sore

Sunlight beams with a brilliant shine

But dandelions form in the cracks of my mind

It would seem the dandelions here symbolize something emotional within the speaker, possibly some version of anger directed toward others. The poachers are more mysterious, but maybe they are the results of the words of anger, which leave the speaker in pain. Rainfall and sunlight seem to be the emotional cleansers of the anger episodes, but the last line indicates the process resumes. Possibly the speaker needs therapy.

This is wonderful insight into this work and I'm glad the symbolism came through so clearly.

The dandelions of life. I enjoyed the metaphor here. The art is not to allow the dandelions to grow. Stop watering them with thoughts and tears, that will help.
