Love's Loyalty

Love's Loyalty

A Poem by Khristian Burkhart

It's an unfortunate tale,
The sad song of love.
Each independent dove
Must live upon the same sail
And love the other
As the same as each other.

One may wander,
Their feelings may cease.
However, the other may ponder
How their lover's actions did decrease.
Her heart did morn and shutter.
That was when she did utter,

"If your heart no longer longs for this mortal life,
And if separation of our paths gives you happiness;
Say no more for I will part ways, despite my strife,
For your joy and laughter means more than my happiness."

Doubting your mate's loyalty is something no one should have to do!
I'm sure many people can relate to this.
