Impulse

Impulse

A Poem by Jb

Taking my chances, going to skip town

Not a penny to spare, not a word to make a sound

Don't know where I'm going, or what I'm going to do

But I know I'll make it if I go there with you

I've gotta go somewhere, or do something

I can't keep hearing songs that I'll never sing

So pick me a flower to put in my hair

Get on the train, I'll meet you there

Maybe I'll settle down, get myself back on track

Or maybe I'll wish I could take it all back

Maybe we'll go and live in the ever after, happily

Or maybe we'll drown in our insanity

I don't know, but I do know, because we can't stay

Don't remember the good times, just look away

Because the good times are now lost, in misery's throws

Take my hand and travel wherever that star goes

Wherever the light leads us, wherever we can see

That place that we don't know of, it's where we need to be
