New again

New again

A Poem by thetish

With soft gentleness and care
You gather my shattered pieces
Small shards, fine bits
Smooth dust, jagged chunks
Scattered about haphazardly

Once more it happened
It just beat too fast.
Leaped up. Leaped out.
Smashed recklessly
bits a-flying.

And then with a grace,
not knowing your power,
nor urgency of fate,
YOU methodically worked
magic as a true artisan.

How fragile those embers
that warmed up the ovens
and melted away the pieces.
That transform into molten liquid,
reminiscent of a fire-bird.

With a forcefully delicate touch
and ever experienced knowing,
you blow life back into my being
Quickly a shape takes form,
as you twirl, blow softly and swirl.

Now I am whole, or so they all say,
The broken bits all a blur
You mended me up
Took away all the mess
and formed a new heart of glass.

This made me smile, knowing that there are people who walk into our lives who can transform us, help us heal, and let us know again the very joy of being alive.
