Hail, Holy Spirit!

Thou milk-white blood

Of everything and everyone!

 

Thou radiant source of special wonder,

Who to anointed eyes, shows like the sun,

Rising from the hand of a blind musician!

 

Oh, thou awful tingling of the skelp

That bows my head before thee!

 

Thou shiver of discovery

That lifts my mind

 

Unto the heavens!

 

Move in me what only You can move!

 

Blaze down on me in truth,

Both beautiful and deadly,

The bread of life, renewing -

 

And the necessary death blow!
