The Tender Sins of Earth

The Tender Sins of Earth

A Poem by Paris Hlad

eThe Tender Sins of Earthf

The Mistakes & Romantic Sins of Youth

Should Be Forgiven & Never Forgotten.

---

When I fulfilled the rites of airy spring,

I did not see the gift within the gain,

As I was lost in wonder

With a gleam

And did not seek a meaning

In the main

Oh, I was like a daydream in the hills,

When tickled by the eyelash of my love,

I swooned in every tender sin of Earth,

Indifferent to the sigh of things above

And that is why

The essence of a youth

Is little more than

Pollen on a wing

Yet I have come

To envy what I see

Within the one

Who lives

The rites of spring.

Youth is but a dream as you so beautifully describe here. It's idyllic and unrushed and there's all the time in the world for love and romance. Life appears as a rose with all it's thorns hidden. All the unsightly colours out of sight and for most, pain's is a distant bite. So when the reverie breaks, we realize how fleeting youth really is.

I loved this poem, its wonderful to read.

Just wow! This is stunning. It reads so well like music and the imagery is perfectly sublime!
