maniacs are not born,

but are simply man made...

 

just like almost anything

they are awakened by

 

overflowing amounts of pain

I guess these are really the man made disasters that the current administration in DC is talking about - certain enemy combatants might be likened to maniacs (I'm not making a political statement here, just drawing a parallel). I agree with the thought you express so succinctly. I'm a retired medical geneticist, but even I see the effect of environment in so many things. Well put and good writing.
