Perfect Misery

Perfect Misery

A Poem by tygernymph0425

Sweet words escaped your soft lips.

Promises made in whispered breath.

Secrets revealed between you and I

Of feelings long felt.

Three perfect weeks and

Seven days of misery never forgotten.

Five seconds of apologies and

A lifetime of heartache you gave to me.

Promises quickly broken.

Truths turned to lies.

Your words like daggers

Sliced into my heart.

Something made for love,

Something made to be cherished

Fitting wonderfully in your palms

Crushed with words so easily.

You said forever and I believed.

Twice you were sure,

Twice you were wrong.

Love never more.

What happened between us?

What happened to our love?
