After the Vote

After the Vote

A Poem by unclecharlie

We voted and are now partners in crime

Happy as Hell even if we don't have a dime

We like the simple things life throws our way

Like the sound of the horses as they're eating hay

Maybe the projects that together we do

Even if it takes weeks before we are through

A nice quiet night and we're home alone

We don't go to door or  even answer the phone

Some nights we go out Pool Stick in  hand

Listen to the Juke Box we don't need a Band

It's not about the thrills or places we may peep

But more in the company we seem to keep

It's you and me together we stand

Or we just walk some times hand in hand

Life is now better then ever before

It all started when we met at the door

Everything is smooth nothing that seems to strange

Can't see a reason for us to ever change

Always a perfect in when we turn out the lights

The hug, the kiss, and the soft spoken Good Nights

Better this life could never be

It sure feels almost like Heaven to me!
