Her

Her

A Poem by Chloe
"

I wanted to write something with someone scraping skin off of another person. This is that.

"

I touched her skin, smiling.

Pale.

Thin.

Soft.

I picked up the knife.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Off it came.

Shred.

Scrape.

Peel.

I liked owning her skin.

Mine.

All mine.

All of it for me.

She was dead.

Gone.

Dearly departed.

Angel.

They never found her body.

Mine now.

All mine.

Every inch.

I kissed every inch of her.

Legs.

Arms.

Face.

She was poisonous.

Blood.

Decay.

Sickness.

I undressed her.

Muscle.

Skin.

Eyes.

Her clothes were mine.

Want.

Want.

Need.

I noticed the mess.

Everywhere.

All over.

She.

I saw her corpse.

End.

Dead.

Dying.

I cried.

I cried.

I cried.

I cried.

Gone.

Gone.

Gone.

Gone.

I would be with her.

Always.

Forever.

Death.

I stabbed myself.

Grabbed her hand.

"'Till life," I said.

"'Till life do us part."

Author's Note

Chloe
I rather like the idea of obsession and fixation beyond the fishbowl of life and that's basically what inspired this, along with the want to write something wherein skin was torn off of someone's limbs.

This was beautiful. The obsession of the flesh due to the misunderstanding that it may lead to the soul is a fascinating blunder. You showed the carnivorous lust that the chaotic soul had for his love, his object that he worships. It's also intriguing how you begin with the subject feeling he must do this for the sake of love, but after he sees the calamity he has caused he is full of remorse. This is extremely accurate given the obscure subject, and it was done in a lovely manner that complimented the grizzly task. This is the poetry I love.

Wow very intense piece, I am impressed with how you show the thought process. Nicely done

Loved the ending. Very twisted, all of it and really interesting. The form really worked, adding to the obsessiveness you were portraying, the staccato and repetition too. Good work!
